The highest vineyards lie about 600 meters above the sea level. In Abruzzo, there are three main grape varieties
cultivated; Montepulicano, Sangiovese and Trebbiano. The best known wines of the region are Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo.
