Mauro Primitivo Alberello

Color: Dark red
Aroma: Deep, rich fruity aroma of dark berries and nuances of herbs, vanilla and oak.
Taste: Full-bodied with a generous taste of sunmatured berryfruit, crispy fresh acidity with hints of licorice and an ending of soft tannins.
Food pairing: Meat dishes of pork, lamb, and beef as well as aged cheese.

Production and maturation: The Mauro Primitivo grapes come from vines pruned in the Alberello, so called "bush vine" technique that gives the grapes a more nuanced aromatic characteristic. After harvest by hand, alcoholic fermentation is made around 25°C in stainless steel tanks with skin contact for five days with daily overpumping. Fermentation is followed by 10-12 days of maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation. Part of the wine is matured in French oak for 3-4 months.
